April 17th- April 23rd 2011

What a busy week!

On Sunday Ellie sat up all by herself! Good job Ellie Belly! We also noticed that she is starting to get on her hands and knees in crawling position. She sure is a mover already. Sunday evening after Ryan put her pj's on she scooted under her crib and got herself stuck. I'm not ready for her to be moving like that. I still want her to be a newborn baby!

Kailee has also discovered a way to get what she wants out of her closet... Ryan likes to describe Kailee as "determined and successful". If that girl wants something, she will find a way to get it. I love her determination, most of the time!

I spent all of Monday sitting at the computer. Ugh. What a bad day!! After breakfast I thought I would get some papers together to refinance our house. That ended up being a whole day project itself. On top of that project I was helping my mom with her taxes. I have never in my 30 years of living, ever done taxes, and that was the most stressful thing ever. Just because I made it stressful! Oh well. In the end we got them done, printed and mailed. That's what counts I guess.

Tuesday I woke up with major guilt because I didn't spend time with the girls Monday and they kept themselves entertained the entire day. I decided I would spend the day doing something fun with them. So around noon we headed to the Bountiful Rec Center to go swimming. Silly me didn't take any toys for the girls to play with in the water so most of the time we just sat there watching everyone else. At the end we found some little fountains that Kailee had fun playing with. Another Oh Well moment. At least I was spending time with them and I wasn't distracted with other things.

The girls and I spent Wednesday shopping for Easter. Kailee fell asleep shortly after getting into the car so I headed to the Target in Centerville so she could sleep a little bit. I was also hoping that if I headed south I would escape the rain. I feel like we live in Seattle because it has been raining constantly for some reason. Anyhow, I spent some time getting what I needed for some Easter baskets and then just wandered the store looking at any and everything else! After Target we headed to the mall. I needed a white sweater for Ellie to wear on Easter with her dress. Of course, I ended up wandering through a bunch of other stores too!

Thursday we went to an Easter Egg Hunt and luncheon with other moms and kids from our neighborhood. We all met at the church ate lunch and then the kids did an egg hunt. I wasn't sure how Kailee would do or if she would even be interested, but she did good! She was so cute and excited.

Ryan took work off on Friday so he came along with me and the girls to lunch with his Mom and sisters. They took me out to Applebees for lunch for my birthday! After lunch, most of the girls went to Hobby Lobby and Ryan went to Costco with Zach, Kailee and Ellie. What a fun Birthday celebration!

On Saturday we went to our ward Easter party. They had a yummy pancake breakfast and then an egg hunt. It was fun to watch Kailee look for the eggs and she even knew to put them in her basket! Cute kid!

April 10th- April 16th 2011

At the beginning of the week I got the cleaning bug and cleaned mine and Ryans bedroom top to bottom! I wiped down the walls, the baseboards, moved the furniture and vaccumed under it, cleaned the blinds, the bathroom, took all the clothes out of the closet and dusted the shelves and got rid of clothes and shoes we haven't worn in a long time. Man it sure felt good when I was done. I don't think anyone could tell, but I knew it was done and it was nice! The girls were so good the whole time too. Kailee sat in Ellie's swing and Ellie sat in her Jenny Jump Up. It was nice to get such a big project done!

This week I also went through the closets and dressers in the girls' rooms and reorganized them. Man, I love to declutter!

Ellie had her 6 month Dr Appt on Wednesday and we found out she has fluid in her right ear which could lead to an ear infection. She has been so very grumpy for the past few weeks and I thought it was just because she has had a cold along with the rest of us. The doctor decided to give her an antibiotic since she's had the cold for a while and is now developing an ear infection. Hopefully she will start to feel better soon!
Ellie now weighs 15lbs, 9oz (45%), she is 26 3/4" tall (90%), and her head is 16 3/4" (50%). Growing like a weed! Kailee was soooo good during Ellie's appointment. She just sat in the chair the whole time and ate her crackers. Even Dr. Fruin was impressed! I was so relieved that she behaved well! Good job Kailee!!

After the appointment we met Ryan at the Einstein Bro. Bagels in Bountiful for lunch. It's nice that he has a job that allows him to be flexible with his lunches so we can meet up occasionally!   

The weather was actually decent on Saturday so we spent the day outside doing yardwork. Ryan mowed the lawn while I weeded the gardens and the girls played on the swingset. I love it when the sun comes out so we can spend time outside. We got a lot accomplished and the yard looks good!

April 3rd- April 9th 2011

My little baby Ellie turned six months old on Tuesday. She sure is getting big too quick! She is such a cute little girl. She is starting to reach for everything in sight, she has found her tongue, and is starting to suck on her thumb. She is also trying so hard to sit up by herself. She is starting to become a mommys girl. She pouts and starts to cry when unfamiliar faces approach her. She is starting to coo, gurgle and talk a lot. When she lays on the floor on her belly she moves her arms and legs like crazy- it's almost as if she's trying to swim. She has been so good sleeping at night. I usually put her in her crib after her bottle around 9pm and she sleeps until Kailee wakes her up in the morning, usually around 8am. Cute girl!






From what we can tell we think Ellie and Kailee are complete opposites! My pregnancy with Kailee was difficult, Ellie's was easy. Kailees delivery took 2+ hours, Ellie's took 10 + minutes. Kailee couldn't drink milk-based formula, Ellie does. Kailee wouldn't eat rice cereal, Ellie can't get enough of it. Ellie will put herself to sleep, but Kailee has to be held to go to sleep. Kailee is a daddy's girl, Ellie seems to be a mommy's girl. Ellie LOVES to be held and cuddled. Kailee is always in action. When Ellie picks something up, it goes right to her mouth. Kailee never did that. Oh, I know this is only the beginning!

Recently, Kailee has started to change her clothes several times during the day. One morning I had her dressed all cute and had her hair done. Later she came to me with three of her long sleeved onsies and asked me to put them on her. Well, alright weirdo! Then she had to wear her sweat pants. Then, she came back downstairs with her black church shoes on. Kailee, with her own style, as happy as can be!

Another outfit chosen by Kailee! (I think she was upset because she wanted to go bye-bye and we weren't moving quick enough for her!) Yes, we did let her go out in public wearing this!

March 27th- April 2nd 2011

Sunday morning I put Ellie in her papasan chair so she could hang out with me while I worked on Kailee's quilt a little more. After a little bit I looked down to check on her and I found her sitting up. It's a good thing I had her buckled in or she would have found herself laying face first on the floor, probably with a nice bump on the head! Cute kid!

Lately we have found 1:00pm church to be difficult. Monday thru Friday I put Kailee down for a nap around 1pm, but with church starting at 1pm we can't do that. Kailee + no nap = major grumpiness. So this week when Kailee woke up grumpy and continued to be grumpy we decided we would just go for a drive and let her sleep. We took the back roads through Layton, Kaysville and Farmington looking at all the nice new neighbors looking for a place where we would like to live. We ended with driving through the Bountiful hills. We drove and drove and drove while Kailee slept. This week, it was a lot better than dealing with her grumpiness!

Wednesday night I finally finished Kailee's quilt. It was difficult to do and I am glad I am finished. I do have to say though, it turned out pretty cute! Now we just need to finish painting the molding and decorate!! Wahoo. Almost done!

Thursday, Kailee went to her last dance class for the summer. Now that it is starting to get a little warmer and we can be outside a little more, I decided we would stop the class till fall. It was fun to watch her get excited to sing the songs and dance and I know she will enjoy it even more later!

On Friday Ryan surprised me and came home early. It was such a nice day so we took the kids over to the park for a little bit. I am soooo glad it is starting to warm up. It's nice to be able to go outside and play. And it was nice that Ryan was able to leave work so he could come with us! While we were at the park we noticed Kailee wasn't as active as she normally is and she started to lose her voice. She went down the slide a few times and was trying to have fun, but we could tell she wasn't feeling well. She kept getting worse throughout the day so I decided to take her to the Dr. to see if she had croup. She was so cute while the nurse and then the Dr. listened to her lungs and checked her ears and throat. They said she probably did have croup, but it wasn't too bad. They sent us home with a prescription just in case it got worse over the next few days. It is so sad to see Kailee sick. Hopefully it will go away quickly without spreading to the rest of us!


Ryan spent most of Saturday putting the swingset together and Kailee spent most of the day helping him! That girl just loves to be outside and loves to help us with whatever we are doing. I spent most of the day inside being lazy with Ellie. Ryan worked quickly and got a good portion of it done, then it started to rain. The instructions say it takes between 8 to 10 hours with 2 people working on it. Ryan is good with stuff like that though, so hopefully it won't take that long!
