Kailee's 6 months Pictures
I love being a mother and watching this little girl grow! At her 6 month Dr. appt on November 16th, she weighed 15lbs, 15oz (the 50th percentile), was 27 1/4" long (the 95th percentile) and her head was 17 1/4" (the 80th percentile). The Dr. laughed and said she has a bigger head than normal because she is smarter than normal! We think so also! She is a very smart little girl! She wants to crawl and just yesterday she started to scoot backwards! She is trying soooo hard to sit up by herself and she notices when we leave the room (and she lets us know she doesn't like it when we leave her)! We also started to feed her baby food. She loves sweet potatoes, carrots, pears and peaches. However... she does not prefer the peas. When I tried to feed them to her, she pulled a funny face, pretended to choke and closed her lips so I couldn't feed her anymore! It really was hillarious! Drama, drama, drama! (I say she takes after her dad, haha)! She really is a cute little girl and we are lucky to have her in our home!

Our Month in Review
On October 12th, our little family went out to Gardner Village to have our fall family pictures taken by our "family photographer," a.k.a. Jolie! We didn't realize how difficult it really is to get pictures taken with a little one! I think Kailee is like me and doesn't like to get her picture taken, but we did come up with a few good ones! Thanks Jolie!
Witches Party
On October 17th, Jolie had a Witches Gathering party with all the girls in the family. Her parties are always so much fun and I always look forward to them. The night before Ryan had to work a night shift, 3:00-11:30pm, so I decided to keep Kailee and I entertained by making us some brooms for the Witches party! I went to Ben Franklin Crafts and wandered around the store for about 2hours trying to decide how to do it. Ryan was very grateful he had to work so he didn't have to wander around a girly craft store for hours and hours :) After a lot of work this is what we came up with! I do have to admit I was very surprised at how they turned out! They didn't get used this year other than at the party, but they do make cute decorations!
I went a little (ok, WAY) overboard dressing Kailee up for the party, but she did look cute!
A New Calling
Sunday October 25th brought some change... I was released from my calling as Relief Society Secretary and called to... Relief Society Secretary! Finally, a calling I have some experience with. Haha! Our R.S. Presidents husband was called to the bishopric so they released her so they wouldn't have two demanding callings in one family. So... the first counselor was called as the President, they called a new first counselor and the rest of us are the same. I was kind of looking forward to being done and moving on to something else, but I also felt kind of disappointed that we were done because I was just starting to get the hang of things. The other day the new president called me to go over some things. She mentioned how she noticed in my blessing from the bishopric they mentioned that I should act as another counselor to the president, she would really need my help and I would feel part of the presidency. I found it interesting that she noticed that because that was one of the things that was interesting to me. I never really felt as if I was a part of the previous presidency, I always felt I was the odd man out because of my lack of experience in the church. I was never given anything to do other than take roll and bring some fruit to our Mothers Day meeting... I really felt useless. The blessing I received from the Bishop really made me realize our Heavenly Father truly knows how we feel, he cares and wants to help make things better! I am actually excited to see what this new calling will bring!
Pumpkin Carving!
The night before Halloween we decided we had better get our pumpkins carved! I came up with the idea of what to carve each one, Ryan carved and Kailee watched. We all had our very important roles in this event!
Halloween!
This Halloween was a little different for us. Halloween is Stephs birthday and we usually spend the day/night with her and her family celebrating her birthday and trick-or-treating, but since her entire family had been sick for a few weeks, we decided we had better stay away... that meant we had to come up with our own plans.
So, this is what we came up with. Ryan washed the car in the morning and worked in the yard till about 3pm then we went to run some errands. My mom stopped by and gave Kailee some blankets, heavy duty ones for winter! Around 5ish we got dressed up and took Kailee around the neighborhood trick-or-treating. After a couple houses we decided we were finished because we felt silly for getting candy for our 5month old! We finished walking around the block and went home. We decided even though Steph and the family couldn't go out, we would still go to dinner at Texas Roadhouse. After dinner we stopped by Grandma Colleens for a few minutes. She gave Kailee a can of formula for her treat!! And then headed home for the night.

We Are Under Construction

So I have decided to give our blog a face lift! I found a site that will customize your page, but it comes at a cost, of course. So I decided to try and do it myself. I have the scrapbooking software, I just need to learn how to do it!
It might take a while, but one day soon we will have a new look!
Good luck to me!

Simple Randomness!

I don't know why, but this has been on my mind today....
I am a music lover! I love to listen to music and read the lyrics.
One of my favorite Hymns is 'Because I Have Been Given Much'. When we were young, after church my mom would play the piano and Steph and I would sing along. My mom would always play this song and I loved it. Just a few years ago I was sitting in Sacrament singing this song and I realized what this song was about. Now I really love this song. At first it just reminded me of my mom playing the piano and us singing along and now I love the simple message too...
Because I have been given much, I too must give; Because of thy great bounty Lord, each day I live, I shall divide my gifts from thee with every brother that I see who has the need of help from me.
Because I have been sheltered fed by thy good care, I cannot see anothers lack and I
not share, my glowing fire, my loaf of bread, my roofs safe shelter over-head, that he too may be comforted.
Because I have been blessed by thy great love, dear Lord, I'll share thy love again
according to thy word. I shall give love to those in need, I'll show that love by word and deed: thus shall my thanks be thanks indeed.
What a good message. When we are blessed and given more than enough, why not share and make someone else's life a little easier too?
Another good song.... 'Lucky' by Jason Mraz and Colbie Callait. No, not a Hymn, but still a good song! Here's the chorus:
I'm lucky I'm in love with my best friend. Lucky to have been where I have been.
Lucky to be coming home again.
They don't know how long it takes. Waiting for a love like this. Every time we say goodbye I wish we had one more kiss. I'll wait for you I promise you, I will.
Lucky we're in love in every way. Lucky to have stayed where we have stayed. Lucky to be coming home someday.
There are so many times these days you hear people breaking up their marriage because 'they just feel like best friends'. I know, everyone is different, but I am grateful to be married to my best friend. To be with someone who loves me for who I am and who I love for who he is. I love coming home to 'my best friend' every day!
Okay, ramble, ramble, ramble. I'm done for now!

Kailee is 2 Months
At Kailee's 2 month Dr. appt, she weighed 9lbs 8oz (the 25th percentile) and was 23 inches long (the 90th percentile). Yes, she is LONG and LEAN! Sorry Kailee, hopefully we aren't starving you! She also got her immunizations and that was the saddest thing ever.
Kailee is now starting to lift her head, drool ALOT, she smiles and talks to Ryan and I, and she sleeps ALL NIGHT LONG! The first night she actually slept through the night was on Fathers Day (she was 5wks old). She went to sleep around 10pm or 11pm and didn't wake up until 5am. We wondered if it was just because she was up the whole night before, but she has been sleeping every night since! Sometimes she sleeps till 7am! She doesn't take very long naps during the day, but that is ok. I will take uninterrupted sleep at night any time!

Dad Takes the Girls Out!
