My Sweet Baby

My poor little Kailee took a good fall off of the kitchen bar stool yesterday and fractured her collarbone.
I had sat her at the counter while I was cooking her mac n cheese for lunch. When it was done it was waaaaay hot so I left it on the counter in front of her while it cooled down and walked away to look up a phone number on the computer. While I was away from her she leaned up on the counter to reach for her food. I told her to sit down and I would be right up to help her. When she tried to get back down she slipped and fell right off of the stool onto the tile floor and landed on her left side and then knocked her head pretty hard. The poor thing just cried and cried. I tried to look at her to see what was hurt and anytime I moved her she would scream louder. I called Ryan at work and he left immediately to come home so we could take her to the doctor. The doctor looked her over and could tell that she hurt her collarbone. So off we went to the hospital for x-rays. Ryan walked over to the hospital with Kailee so we wouldn't have to put her back in the car just to get her back out and I went and moved the car to the hospital parking. While moving the car I was thinking about how much pain my little baby girl was in and I felt horrible. I was anxious to get back to her and off I went into the hospital. As soon as I walked through the hospital doors I saw Ryan with Kailee and noticed someone was missing... my little Ellie. Then I realized she was with me when I moved the car... Yup, I left her in the car, all alone, when I went into the hospital. Wow, what a bad, no, horrible mom day! I couldn't get back to the car fast enough to get my little baby. Oh man, it seemed as if things were just going to keep getting worse and I kept hoping no one would make the call to child protective services! Thankfully when I got to the car my little Ellie was sound asleep and ok.
I will definitely pay more attention to my little ones and let the little things that I "want" to do go until my Kailee and Ellie are in safe places!
The past few days for us have been really rough. Kailee is in pain, she's tired, she won't eat and she's flat out grumpy. She definitely has reason to feel that way, but it is sooo hard to see her miserable. I hope she heals quickly because I would love to have my little spunky buddy back!

Merry Christmas

Christmas morning started at 9am for us. Not too bad! Kailee still doesn't understand that Christmas morning means that Santa brought presents and of course Ellie has no clue either, but it was still fun.
(side note: we like both BYU and the U... Ryan only wears his Christmas pj's once and so I decided to get him the U sweats because one, they are red and two he could wear them all year long!!) 
Kailee lost interest in opening presents after gift number one! She wanted to eat water from her cup with a spoon instead. See the big gift next to her? Yup, she was not interested!
And then when it came time for stockings she just wanted to brush her teeth! See the purse next to her? Yup, not interested! I guess she's easily satisfied!
Ellie was perfectly happy sitting in her papasan having us open her gifts for her! She did seem quite happy to receive a glow baby, soft toys, a book, and pj's!
After presents we got ready and went for our traditional breakfast at Little America with my mom. We didn't make it in time for the Christmas brunch buffet so we had dinner in the coffee shop instead. Yum, dinner at 2pm. Sweet. Not quite what we had expected, but again, it was still fun to be together!
Today we all wore our Christmas dresses/attire to church. I asked Kailee to stand by the tree so I could take her picture and she was so excited! How innocent huh?! I didn't even pose her, she did this all on her own. Silly girl!
And here's Ellie in her papasan, again. It is IMPOSSIBLE to get pictures of both of them together right now. So for now this is it! Isn't she cute?!

Ellie at 2 Months

At Ellie's 2 month Dr appt she weighed a whopping 11 lbs 2ounces (50%), was 24 inches long (95%), and her head was 15.1 inches (35%). She is growing, growing, growing!! My newborn is definitely not a newborn anymore. With Kailee we, well Ryan, was really stingy with how much she ate, but with this little one, she eats, and eats, and eats! On Dec 8th she started to sleep through the night. We now feed her around 11pm and she will sleep until 6 or 7am!! Wahoo!! There was even one night where we all slept though the night (Kailee in her bed and Ellie in hers) and Ryan ended up sleeping through his alarm! He woke up at 7am when he was supposed to be at work!! I guess we all slept REALLY good! Oh how nice it is to get more sleep!

Ellie was also blessed on her 2 month birthday! She was blessed by her daddy and her uncles Sean, John, and great-uncle Brian stood in the circle along with the Bishopric. What a great 2 month birthday!
